Before and after her History Degree, Michelle worked as a support worker, advisor and auxiliary nurse for over 10 years. During this time she worked within the NHS, Community Mental Health settings and on a one to one basis supporting and nursing a wide range of people.
For the last 9 years her professional background has been as a Development Manager, Project Manager and Trustee within the Voluntary and Community Sector. During this time she also worked in project and development roles for the HE sector and private business.
She is a Management Commitee Member and Chair of a Women's Health Charity in Bristol.
Qualifications and Experience
- In 2004 Michelle trained at the Bristol School of Holistic Therapies and gained a Diploma in Reflexology and a Certificate in Anatomy and Physiology.
- In 2004 Michelle undertook further training in VRT with Lynne Booth and incorporates this in her practice wherever possible.
- In 2006 she completed her foundation in Shaitsu at the Bristol School of Shiatsu continuing her own personnal development.
- During 2006-7 she provided Reflexology treatments at St Monica Trust under the guidance of Lynne Booth; and also set up her own private practice.
- Since September 2009 she has commenced a year long Counselling Skills Certificate at the University of the West of England.
- She is registered with the International Federation of Reflexologists and is an authorised member of the Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT) Network.
- She is a fully qualified emergency first aider, holding an appointed persons first aid certificate.
- In 2010 Michelle is attending an advanced VRT workshop and a VRT Master Class on Pain Management.
Michelle’s approach is informal, friendly and holistic, incorporating her knowledge in many areas. She continues to study and works on her own personal development so she can support others. She also writes, blogs about mental, physical health and reflexology and works on retreats. She is passionate about Reflexology and the transformation it can bring.
